BBCAN - The Betches Are Back!

BBCAN - The Betches Are Back!

After a long, HARD year of having the Pax Bros as our reigning BBCAN champions, the space odyssey launched, blasting 8 fresh faced newbies, and 8 returning veterans high into the stratosphere to compete for the grand prize of $100,000, a new Toyota Car, and a home makeover worth $30,000. (Try to say that in your head without using Arisa's voice).

Often when shows try to get returnees back on the programme, they'll just go for whoever they can get back onto the programme, which doesn't always result in a good series. BBCAN pulled out all the stops, and have allowed only the best of the best to return with a few exceptions *cough cough, Dallas*.

Seriously, they'd better get some letters for the queen of shredding IKA WONG to tear apart with those claws, and provide a couple of weaves for Gary, who fell victim to a $100,000 voting mishap, which in all fairness provided one of the most phenomenal live TV mishaps EVER.

We've also got to talk about the Queen of Canada allowing herself to renter the house to claim the prize she rightfully earned in 2016.

Also in the mix are a professional pizza maker (she'll be popular), a musician, a professional boxer and a blogger (no, not me).

Cast from left to right - Dre, Dillon, Sindy, Demetres, Jackie, Emily, Kevin, Ika, William, Mark, Neda, Dallas, Cassandra, Karen, Gary, Bruno.

The first HoH comp of the season was once again an endurance competition, and somewhat surprisingly was won by the oldest member of the house, Karen, who wasted absolutely no time by nominating two big boys, Mark and Demetres. Of course Cassandra being the supreme ruler of Canada shook her head, and decided Demetres needed to stay, and what do ya know? Mark walked though the door before the game had began, and Demetres wins himself HoH.

Demetres then decides to nominate Emily as a pawn and Dillon as his main target, after setting up a feud with him in order to stay in the house, curtesy of Cass once again, but what does Dillon do? he wins HoH! Am I happy? absolutely not, I think Dillon is basically feeding off of Emily's game, and his own ego more then actually employing any thought or strategy to his game.

The focus in that face..
"Please mess up, please get 0"
Is this sufficient?
Demetres then puts Dallas in the place of Dillon, which is a fair move for Demetres, although for Dallas It goes
                                                       downhill
                                                                    from
                                                                            here.

For some reason, he gets it into his mind that he should completely turn on his alliance with Emily and Dillon early on in the game, to try and prove loyality to the veterans, who bridges had already been beaten and damaged beyond repair.

By the looks of it, Dallas realises that his actions that week were just strange, and decides to repledge his loyalty to Dillon and Emily and pretend that nothing happened.

Did he heck!

In one of the most bizarre game moves I've ever seen, Dallas begins to try and crush Sindy, yes, Sindy with an S's game by calling her out for doing pretty much nothing. Let's just remember who came 13th, and who came 11th Dallas?

Obviously Dallas was next to be booted from the BBCAN odyssey, despite the veterans at first wanting to stick together.

It was pretty easy for big Deezy to blow up his game.

Neda, who had previously carried Jon to the final was then given a free ride by Canada to ride to jury, although she does not want it to seem that way, and decides to win herself HoH.

I mean, why not? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Despite this, she has done the unthinkable, and has booked the queen in for an execution, alongside a pawn.

All I know is Cassandra or Demetres NEED to win PoV, to ensure that the queen rules another week.

RUSSIAN CONTESTANT BANNED FROM EUROVISON

RUSSIAN CONTESTANT BANNED FROM EUROVISON

Earlier today, the EBU announced that Russian singer Yulia Samoilova will not be able to participate in the 62nd edition of the Eurovison Song Contest in Kyiv, due to her violation of Ukranian laws, which include performing in the annexed area of Crimea, and posting on social media in support of the annexion by Russia. The 26 year old has received a 3 year travel ban, after performing in Crimea in 2015 "illegally".

Yulia Samoilova is banned from entering Ukraine, deeming her illegible to participate in Eurovison.

In my opinion, this really breaks the spirit of Eurovision, a concept designed to bring together a continent broken by war in a fun and creative way, totally new to the planet and unique to Europe.

Despite this, It's understandable that as a country Ukraine does have to stick to its laws, but the EBU and NTV could have had a bigger influence on the desision.

I propose that Yulia should sit on the border and livestream her singing her song in her slot. That way, she will not be breaking laws by being in the country, but as will still have the opportunity to represent her country and do well.

Russia aren't the only ones that could face a banning from Russia, as it has also been reveal that Armenian contestant Artsvik is under investigation over a visit to Crimea. Whether she will face a similar threat is still to be seen...

Could Artsvik face a similar fate?

Survivor Game Changers Episode One

Survivor Game Changers Episode One

Yep, it's that time of the year again, which sees 20 civillians battle it out over the course of 39 days, trying to outwit, outlast and outplay, all in order to achieve the infamous title of sole survivor.

As a UK fan having only watched the Kaôh Rōng and Milenials VS Generation X seasons, it was interesting for me to recognise previous players from the two seasons I've seen (Team Aubry!), but also to be able to see legendary players from older series that I've not seen play the game.

The first shock twist came in the form of a voting twist - When the vote is a tie, there will be NO revote, meaning it will go straight to a unanimous decision, or if one can't be reached, a rock draw. This twist could prove to be fairly useless if no split votes are used, or it could be FATAL, as with the case last season, where Jessica was sent home after drawing a white rock over a split vote between Hannah and Zeke.

The series began as standard, with the two different tribes collecting as many supplies as possible. Ozzy also retrieved a toolkit for his tribe Nuku, whilst Sierra found a legacy advantage, which she nearly missed, which would give her immunity when there were either 13 or 6 people left at camp.

Panic insues. Debbie doesn't really mind.
Really?

Once all the supplies had been salvaged, the two tribes headed their separate ways, when Tony decides to announce that he is off to look for the idol, leaving the rest of the tribe to their jobs. Not only is that not pulling your weight, by leaving everyone to do all the hard work whilst you go off to search for something that only benefits you, it's also putting a HUGE target on your back, without the game even really starting. Also, I do think an opportunity was missed by the other players - Someone could have gone after Tony, saying they were going to watch and check he doesn't find the idol and look for the idol themselves. That way, they could say that Tony has the idol, putting an even bigger target on their back.

Mana tribe  which consists of Ciera, Tony, Aubry, Michaela, Sandra, Hali, Malcom, Caleb, Troy, and Jeff won the first immunity/reward challenge of the series, meaning Nuku tribe, consisting of Andria, Brad, Cirie, Sarah, Ozzy, Zeke, Sierra, James, Tai, and Debbie would be going to tribal. Ciera made a big mistake in being too eager to get the bigger targets out early on, and making it known to everyone therefore what her game plan was, and was first to be voted out by her tribe.

Bye Felicia!

Mana tribe then again won the following immunity/ reward challenge, avoiding tribal council by quickly manoeuvring a giant snake (probably called Taylor or Jay) through an obstacle course, before ripping it open to retrieve rings to through at flags spelling "immunity".

Understandably, Tony was the second voted out at tribal council, after trying to snatch the queen of survivor Sandra's crown, and get her voted out.

"That's what choo get, take yo ass home"

Overall, I'm very happy with how the season has kicked off, and I am ready to enjoy 3 months of good play from the best of the best!
